Can't Get to a Notary's Office? Our Notary Public Comes to You
The document is ready, but getting to a law firm in office hours is hard. You may have a baby at home, a parent who rarely goes out, or a job that won't give you a morning off. So the Notary Public comes to you. A Singapore Notary Public is a senior lawyer appointed to notarise documents for use outside Singapore. At your door, the notarial act, the seal and the fees fixed by law are exactly the same as in a law office.
What a mobile notary can do where you are:
- witness your signature on a power of attorney, deed, consent letter or agreement
- take a statutory declaration, such as a declaration of single status or of your name
- certify true copies of your passport, NRIC, degree or other originals
- sign several family members or company directors in one visit
You still have to sign in person, because Singapore notaries can't notarize documents by video today. If you searched for a "notary near me", the nearest one may be the Notary who comes to your door. Each section below covers one kind of problem and links to the full details.
Notary Home Visit: Sign at Your HDB, Condo or Landed Home
A notary home visit means the Notary Public comes to your flat or house at a time you choose, checks your identity, watches you sign and completes the notarial certificate on the spot. No taxi, no queue, no day off. An HDB block in Tampines, a condo in Dover or a landed home in Bukit Timah: the visit works the same way.
Families book home visits for situations like these:
- a couple signing a power of attorney so a relative can sell their property overseas
- parents signing a consent declaration before their children relocate abroad
- an older parent who prefers to sign at home, with family around
What happens during the visit. The Notary checks each signer's original passport or NRIC and makes sure they understand what they're signing. That check protects your family, because it makes the document harder to challenge later. If a signer doesn't read English well, tell us beforehand so an interpreter or translation can be arranged.
What to have ready:
- the original passport or NRIC/FIN of every signer
- the document, unsigned (please don't sign it before the Notary arrives)
- any instructions from the overseas authority, bank or lawyer
- the originals if you need certified copies
Hospital ward or care home instead of home? Tell us when you book. Hospital and care-home visits start from S$149.
Not at home, or short of time? For a company signing, see company signings at your office below. If your deadline is today or tomorrow, see how urgent and same-day appointments work, and what can realistically be finished in a day.
From Your First WhatsApp to a Notarised Document in 4 Steps
- 1Send a photo. WhatsApp us a picture of the document and tell us which country it's for. A phone photo is fine.
- 2Get a clear quote. We check what the receiving authority needs and send one all-in figure.
- 3Meet the Notary. At your home, your office, a hospital or a care home anywhere in Singapore. You sign in front of the Notary Public.
- 4We finish the job. If you wish, we take it to SAL, handle any embassy step and courier it to you or your attorney.
What Will a Mobile Notary Cost You? Statutory Fees + One Clear Travel Fee
Notary fees in Singapore are set by the Notaries Public Rules and are the same in a law office or your living room. Providers differ only on travel, urgency and handling. Most notaries don't publish a travel fee. We do.
| What you pay | Amount |
|---|---|
| Witnessing one signature | S$40 |
| Notarial certificate | S$75 |
| SAL authentication (Apostille), per notarial certificate | S$87.20 (S$80 + 9% GST) |
| Visit fee: Central / CBD, weekdays | From S$99 per visit |
| Visit fee: other areas of Singapore | From S$119 per visit |
| Visit fee: hospital or care home | From S$149 per visit |
| Evenings after 6 PM, weekends, public holidays | +S$40 |
The prices shown above are starting prices. Your final price depends on the document type, number of pages and destination country, and will be confirmed in a written quotation before any work begins.
You get the full figure before you book. See our full breakdown of notary costs, with worked examples.
Too Busy to Chase Notary, SAL and Courier Yourself? Hand Us the Whole Job
Signing is quick. The running around afterwards is not: the SAL counter at The Adelphi opens only on weekdays, then there may be an embassy and a courier. SAL accepts a proxy, with no authorisation letter needed, so we can do those steps for you.
Our done-for-you proxy service, handled end to end books the Notary, submits your document to SAL, arranges any embassy legalisation, collects it and couriers it. We update you on WhatsApp at every step. The one thing a proxy can never do is sign or swear for you. For that part, the Notary comes to you.
Living abroad but your document is in Singapore? We regularly hear from people in Spain, Italy or the US who need a Singapore degree or marriage certificate apostilled. Often the document can travel even when you can't. See what's possible through notarisation for clients living abroad, and when you must sign in person. All the work is done here in Singapore.
Document Going Overseas? We Handle the Apostille and Embassy Steps
Every document notarised in Singapore must also be authenticated by SAL before it can be used overseas. Since 16 September 2021, SAL does this with an Apostille, a certificate confirming the Notary's signature and seal. Start with how the SAL Apostille works and what it proves. For countries that belong to the Apostille Convention, such as India, China, the Philippines, the UK, Australia and the USA, the Apostille is usually the last Singapore step. Vietnam joined on 11 September 2026.
Malaysia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Sri Lanka and Myanmar usually need one more step at their embassy in Singapore. Thailand joins the Convention on 28 February 2027; until then, documents for Thailand still go through the Thai Embassy. Read about the extra embassy legalisation step for these countries. Requirements can change, so always check with the authority receiving your document.
Foreign-Language Document? Translated and Notarised for ICA or Overseas Use
PR, citizenship and Long-Term Visit Pass applicants often have birth or marriage certificates in another language. The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) lists the translations it accepts, including one made by a notary public in Singapore or a private translation notarised by one. We've seen an application held up because a translation wasn't notarised. Our translation and notarisation for PR, citizenship and LTVP applicants is built around ICA's list, with names matched to your passport.
For documents going abroad, such as court papers, contracts or certificates, our translations notarised for overseas use can include the SAL Apostille and embassy steps. We translate between English and Chinese, Malay, Tamil and many other languages.
Giving Someone Authority Abroad, or Told to Sign Before a Notary?
A power of attorney (POA) lets someone act for you overseas, often to sell property, run a bank account or handle a court case. Our guide to notarising a general, special or property POA explains the types, the signing, and why it differs from a Singapore Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), which is for use in Singapore.
- POA for India: many Indian residents here sign one for property or bank matters. See signing a POA for property or banks in India, including the Apostille and what your lawyer in India handles next.
- Company POA: a director appoints a representative overseas, for example in Thailand. See company POAs signed by your director.
- Any other signature: if a foreign office just says "sign in front of a notary", our notarial witnessing of your signature covers deeds, declarations and multi-party agreements.
Passport, Birth, Marriage or Degree Papers Requested From Abroad?
Overseas banks, universities and immigration offices often ask for a "certified true copy": a copy a Notary Public has checked against your original and certified. Start with certified copies of your passport, NRIC or licence.
Some certificates take a different route, and some Singapore government documents can go straight to SAL without a notary. We'll tell you honestly when that applies.
- Singapore and foreign birth certificates for use abroad, including digital certificates issued since 29 May 2022
- ROM and ROMM marriage certificates for spouse visas or registration abroad
- degree, transcript and diploma papers for jobs or study overseas, including advice on OpenCerts
- proof you're free to marry overseas: Singapore doesn't issue a Certificate of No Impediment, so a ROM marriage-record search and a declaration before a Notary are the usual alternatives
Company Papers or Director Signings? We Come to Your Office Too
Companies need documents accepted abroad and directors who can sign without leaving the building. Our notarisation of board resolutions, ACRA papers and incumbency certificates covers the documents. It also explains when ACRA documents can go straight to SAL.
For the signing, we send the Notary to you, whether it's one director at a Science Park office or several in one room. See how an on-site signing at your company's office works, including the signing-authority checks and a single invoice to the company. Company POAs are covered in the power of attorney section above.
Anywhere in Singapore, From Jurong to Pasir Ris
We visit homes and offices anywhere in Singapore, including Jurong, Woodlands, Punggol, Pasir Ris, Tampines, Bishan, Bukit Timah and the CBD. Share your 6-digit postal code when you book a visit online and we'll confirm the travel fee before you book. Visits are available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 9 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. Visits after 6 pm, at weekends or on public holidays add S$40. We work only in Singapore, but if you're overseas we can still handle documents that are here or can be couriered here.

Mobile Notary Questions People Ask Us Most
Can a notary public come to my home in Singapore?
Yes. A Singapore Notary Public can come to your HDB flat, condo, landed home or office anywhere in Singapore. The notarial act is the same as at a law office, and the statutory fees are the same. You pay one travel fee on top, which we quote before you book. Send us your postal code and we'll confirm it.
How much does a mobile notary cost?
A mobile notary costs the statutory notary fees plus a travel fee. The statutory fees are fixed by the Notaries Public Rules and are the same at every notary. For overseas use, SAL's authentication fee of S$87.20 per notarial certificate is added. Our travel fee is from S$99 per visit (Central / CBD); from S$119 (other areas). We send one all-in quote before anything is booked.
What do I need to have ready for the visit?
Have the original passport or NRIC/FIN of every person signing, the unsigned document, and any instructions from the overseas authority or lawyer. If you need certified copies, have the originals too. Please don't sign beforehand. The Notary must see you sign. If anyone doesn't read English well, tell us early.
Is a home notarisation as valid as one done at the office?
Yes. A notarisation at your home is the same legal act, done by the same Notary Public, with the same seal and notarial certificate. The place of signing doesn't change its validity. For use overseas, the document still needs SAL authentication, which we can arrange for you.
Can several family members sign in one visit?
Yes. Several people can sign during one home visit, as long as each person brings their own original ID and signs in front of the Notary. The fee for each extra party is set by law, and there is still only one travel fee. Tell us how many people will sign when you book.
Do you cover all of Singapore?
Yes, we visit homes and offices anywhere in Singapore, from Jurong to Pasir Ris. The travel fee depends on your postal code, and we confirm it before you book. Just send us the six digits. We don't provide visits or notary services outside Singapore.
Can you also get the Apostille and courier the document?
Yes. After signing, we can take your document to SAL for the Apostille, arrange embassy legalisation if the destination country needs it, and courier the finished document to you or your attorney overseas. SAL accepts submissions by a proxy, so you don't need to go to the counter yourself.
Do you provide notary services outside Singapore?
No. All our services are carried out in Singapore by a Singapore Notary Public. You can be anywhere in the world when you contact us, and we can handle documents that are in Singapore or couriered here. Visits, signings, SAL and embassy steps all happen in Singapore.
